Custom Cabinet Finishes
More than just Paint
Cabinet Boy, along with the painters of our Paint Boy division, have been painting Southern California’s most artistic faux finishes since 1994. We can make old cabinets look new or make new cabinets look old. We’re experts at sponging and stenciling techniques that can give your cabinets eye-poppingly unique textures.
We can replicate the look of antique cabinetry through a nine-step refinishing process. Creating natural-looking crackling, fading, or distressed areas is our specialty. If you’d like a marble pattern, or faux wood grain on top of paint, we know exactly how to apply our glazes to make it happen.
We’re also proud to say we mix all of our glazes from scratch. We’ll customize the colors right in your home to make sure you get exactly the look you ask for. You’ll end up with a professional faux finish that you can’t buy in stores, or learn to do yourself in a weekend.
You can’t even hire another company to match the extreme skill, experience, and professionalism of Cabinet Boy’s craftsmen. You could ask us to go beyond cabinets and paint a faux finish for an entire room, with a huge wall mural, and we’d be happy to do it. And we have, in a home near you.
Types of Finishes
All About Cabinet Finsihes
No other single kitchen element has the transforming power of cabinetry. In style and color, cabinetry defines the look of a room and often influences the feel of an entire home. Select from the various types of cabinet finishes Cabinet Boy has to offer. Create a look and style that will set your cabinets apart from the rest. Whether you embrace wood’s natural grain with a stain or opt for a coat of paint, cabinetry color options are plentiful, especially when you add glazes or distressing. Find the perfect mix to match the style of your home.
Natural Finishes
Showcase the natural color and grain of your cabinets with just a light, transparent finish for protection.
Stain Finishes
Add warmth, color, and protection without hiding the grain of solid wood cabinets by using stain. Stains are available in light to very dark finishes.
Paint Finishes
You can paint wood cabinets any color you like with a high-quality enamel. If you fancy the modern, high-gloss look, try lacquered cabinetry.
Glaze Finishes
Apply a glaze over painted or stained cabinetry to add dimension. The glaze will adhere in the nooks and crevices of the wood, providing contrast.
Distressed Finishes
Give new cabinets an instant vintage charm with a distressed treatment that artificially ages and wears the wood.
Stencil Faux Finishes
Stenciling is a great way to add pattern, or focal interest to a wall, floor, or ceiling. We offer custom stencils and can provide you with a variety of faux finish techniques for your project.
Sponge Faux Finishes
Sponging paint is one of the easiest techniques that can give your walls the delicate, mottled look of aged porcelain, as well as the dramatic look of rustic stoneware. Ask about a sponging finish to add detail to your interior paint project.
